| Two High Profile Coaches Appointed To Train National Squad |

Dave Atkinson and Peter Conway of United Kingdom have been appointed as the Coaches for the Asian Games 2010, taking place in Shanwei, China from 12 -27 Nov 2010. India will field entries in two open events the Match Racing and Laser (Radial) and in the Optimist (Boys & Girls) events.
'I have been coach working predominantly with elite sailors and Match Racing programmes around the World as well as with private clients who are specialising in big boat racing,' said Dave Atkinson. 'This appointment to work with the Indian team is certainly an excellent opportunity and I look forward to working with the teams.'Peter Conway said: 'It's a real honour to be appointed as the coach for the Asian Games 2010. I attended the Laser (Radial) World Championships, which concluded today at Largs, Scotland and observed the Indian sailors. I have worked as a coach for many years, training sailors from lots of different countries and at all levels of skills and I am really looking forward to working with sailors from India. It is really an honor for me to be a part of their preparations. ' The coaches’ appointment is funded by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India for coaching the sailors selected as part of the National Squad. A series of coaching camps are planned during the next four months to get the sailors achieve their potential and peak out at the Asian Games 2010. |
